Botanical Nomenclature Course

Description of project: 

The course will teach the principles of plant nomenclature according to ICBN so that participants can apply good nomenclatural practice when undertaking taxonomic revisions, compiling checklists etc. This will be achieved by lectures illustrated with “real-life” examples and by encouraging participants to discuss nomenclatural problems they have encountered.

MSc students, PhD students as well as for early career researchers
Practical experiences: 
Participants will have time to pursue their own research interests using the collections at Kew, with the emphasis on identifying and solving nomenclatural problems
Lectures: 
Two days of lectures
Seminars: 
Short seminars will give participants the opportunity to work through nomenclatural problems relevant to their own research
