Eco-ethological peculiarities & morphological taxonomy in defining uniqueness of island populations: Podarcis Lacertid lizards

Description of project
The aim is to teach students and young researchers on island biodiversity with special reference to reptiles. The training includes a fieldtrip and training at the Aeolian Islands (Nesos association):
- fieldwork on the local populations of the Italian Wall Lizard, Podarcis siculus, and other lizard species (Tarentola mauritanica, Hemidactylus turcicus, Hierophis viridiflavus)
- presentation on Aeolian Islands biogeography and biodiversity
- example of data analysis using stereoscope equipment at laboratory

Training period: 
First or second week of June 2012. Exact dates to be defined.

MSc students, PhD students as well as early career researchers

Registration fee:
€ 525 (includes b/b in Lipari (main location), boat to visit the different islands, lunch bag, and dinner).  
Participants are responsible for their own travel expenses to Milazzo (Sicily).
Extra costs: transfer from Milazzo to Lipari (15 Euros by fast boat, or 10 Euros by ferry).
