This training will focus on mammals taxonomy of Southeast Asia in regard to biogeography and insularisation (gigantism and dwarfism). The second part of the training is divided in two points: 1. A review of extant primates for which the taxonomy is very complicate and always changing. The reasons of this perturbation will be clarify. The second point will deal with identification of fossil primates which are of first interest in term of palaeoenvironments and biogeography. Mainly practical, this course is built on the important quantity of fossils collected by Eugene Dubois in this part of the world and which are stored today in Naturalis museum, Leiden.
